Introduction

Zandvoort is the first Dutch coastal municipality to have joined the European QualityCoast programme in 2005. During the Week of the Sea 2006, in the Netherlands, Albert Salman, director of the EUCC, has presented the city council with the QualityCoast Label. The drawing up of a policy memorandum, which notes the different ways Zandvoort dedicates itself for sustainable tourism, forms an important point for obtaining and preserving the QualityCoast label.
