To ensure development that is sustainable, it is imperative that enhancement of the mobility of local people is managed in an ordered and sustainable manner in terms of economic, social and environmental factors. For this reason, and in the context of the mobility strategy adopted by the city of Torres Vedras, the implementation of comprehensive traffic management strategies has been seen as a priority. One example of this are the municipal parking regulations which have been passed and which give a legal foundation for all operations carried out in the municipality. |
They are intended to instigate monitoring operations, the lack of which is at the root of all that is negative in terms of parking. Residents will be able to park near their homes, with the daytime population having to leave their vehicles in car parks on the outskirts and then use public transport, thereby opening up space for those using commercial and other services. The Torres Vedras municipality is served by road and rail, has a heliport next to the Fire Station and an aerodrome in Santa Cruz. |
