Goedereede is especially visited by holidaymakers
and visitors who come for peace and space. Most stays take place in
holiday parks, mobile homes and on camping sites. Altogether there are
76 places of residence on Goedereede with a variety from small-scale
to mega areas, such as Port Zélande. The hotel offer is limited
to three hotels, one guesthouse and a Bed and Breakfast. In the town
of Goedereede there are four marinas, three of which are on the Grevelingenmeer
and one on the Haringvliet, with altogether 1465 berths. From way back
Goedereede attracts families that as a rule return every year.

Long-term vacation takes place especially in
the high season (longer than five days) in and around the residential
area Ouddorp. The shorter holidays (two to four days) take place
especially in the early and late season in Port Zélande.

The town of Goedereede has laid down a policy in
its vision of the future, which is formed by sustainability and the
preservation of the characteristic values of the former island. The
municipality wants to be a home port for its visitors where it is good
to stay. For that purpose the municipality commits itself to certain
renovations, but it also wants to be a constant factor for returning
visitors. |

The municipality intents to improve accessibility
of the culture and nature in the years to come. It intends to
offer the tourist sector a broad range of possibilities.

| 18. Business Involvement |
|
|
From way back the companies on Goedereede have united in societies
and interest groups. Already in the sixties the VEERO has been set
up. Three organisations are active on the Head of Goeree that look
after the interests of the sustainable developments.

At the moment besides the VEERO the
entrepreneurs society Goedereede and the Innovation Platform are active
in Goedereede. The local authority of Goedereede stimulates this cooperation
and is closely involved in the three organisations. |

|
|
The local authority attaches great significance to the commitment
of its inhabitants to the total community. It gives its inhabitants
plenty of opportunity to be involved in preparations and execution
of plans.

The mutual commitment and solidarity
of the inhabitants is also expressed in sports and club life. Together
we bear, together we share is a slogan that is applicable in the town

| 20. Health & Safety |
|
|
The town of Goedereede is an attractive, healthy and safe municipality.
The municipality is also a tourist municipality; more than 30 % of
its inhabitants is working in this branch. Compared nationwide criminality
is low in the town of Goedereede.

Partly due to good services inhabitants
and visitors have excellent drinking-water at their disposal and the
public waters are clean. The beaches are well guarded and equipped with
aid stations. Because in the municipality there is no air pollution
resulting from industry, the air is of good quality as well.
