Azores – the first QualityCoast Platinum Award Posted September 18, 2014 by QualityCoast News


After being evaluated several times and keeping the highest position in the Global Sustainable Tourism Review (GSTR), the Azores finally became the first QualityCoast Platinum Award winner.
On September 8 2014, the QualityCoast Award Ceremony was held in Horta on Faial (Azores).

Mr. Henrique Ramos (CEO, seaExpert) represented the Jury and gave a speech during the ceremony. Mr. Ramos highlighted the political efforts on this award and recognition of responsibilities for the future to keep up with the high standards and rankings on the development of the sustainable tourism.

The QualityCoast Award flag was raised by Mr. Victor Fraga, Regional Secretary for Tourism and Transports affairs and Mr. Fausto Brito e Abreu, Regional Secretary for the Sea, Science and Technology affairs, who said that they would like “to continue to build an even better future”.

The Regional Secretary of the Sea, Science and Technology pointed out that the QualityCoast Platinum Award is “a challenge that motivates to continue working”.
All enterprises have been invited to use the QualityCoast 2014 Platinum Award to promote the region and its potential as a sustainable tourist destination!
